I’m confused. Was there an online dashboard this year like there was last year? Or was this just a paper provided in-person somewhere? (That’s what the picture looks like).

Also, do these #s include siblings? South side and Westview #s just seem really low.

    Thanks for posting this!

Molly, my belief is that there was no online dashboard like last year. Yes, that confuses me as well – why have a printed-only version? I am sure there is a story behind that. 🙂 Jenny Loshkin said she took the picture on March 25th, and I assume it was at the FIC (I have not asked about the location).

I believe the numbers are low because it was March 25th, 6 days prior to the final closing of Registration. I have asked for updated numbers and am waiting. 🙂

      More to follow.

I have learned some more facts.

      1. Correct, there was no online version this year; the option of calling the FIC to obtain stats was given to parents as an alternative.
      2. A dashboard-like summary will be sent from Unit 4 “early next week”.

Thanks to Stephanie for providing these facts.

Thanks for the extra info 🙂 I’ll be curious to see the updated data when it comes out next week.

My dumb wondering of the day…
All the registrants can’t be on free/reduced lunch, right? What am I missing?

    • charlesdschultz Says:

Yeah, the picture is not very clear on that count. Since it’s almost 50/50, I don’t think it really matters, but if you look, 542=269+273, and 15=9+6.

This was posted at the Family Information Center in the room where families filled out registration paperwork. We were there on the 31st and the numbers had changed (except maybe Dr. Howard!), but sadly we didn’t stop to take a photo. I look forward to seeing the summary next week.

One more note: many kindergarten assignment letters arrived today, so I hope they’re giving you assignment information, too, in the summary, not just preference info. This is quite early compared to recent years, I believe.

My plan is to wait until the summaries come out and then submit a FOIA for all the detailed data. Stephanie has already indicated that the summary will be exactly like previous years, so we pretty much know what to expect. Also, Unit 4 put special language in the contract with Codagami to avoid the problem we had with Alves in years past, namely, that divulging the raw data would somehow make public his oh-so-precious algorithm which might be used to harm him.
