Jan 5 Special Board meeting

Even though it is two hours long, I encourage you to at least check out the beginning of the video of last night’s BOE meeting:

UPDATE: Public comment starts at 23:10

Nicole Lafond also did an article:

In talking with Kerris, it sounds like the plan that several board members had been working on was, for one reason or another, not highlighted. Chalifoux asked a question about it, but that is about all we hear. Kerris has told me he is going to do a little digging to see what the story is.

Thanks for posting this. At first glance it seems the best group of 4 in terms of diverse skill sets to serve the District are Armstrong, Lee, Koeppel and Brown. Pretty obvious if you know them and their background. They are broad in their focus and bring specific skill sets in different critical areas of need within the District. I’m pretty sure Champaign voters will see that over time.

If either Bonnett or Brown win Frerich’s open Senate seat, is it possible to serve on both the board and the Senate? I ask out of naivete, since I have no idea. I have to imagine that the Senate’s office is quite busy.

And yes, I have asked both what their plans are – waiting to hear back. (I just recently asked, so I may not hear anything for a little while)

Another note about the “other” plan Kerris mention; I understand that he talked to Dr. Wiegand today, and they hope to provide the details by Thursday night, depending on how quickly it can be vetted by DRL.

Unofficially, it sounds the tweaked plan may be in the ballpark of $139 – $141 million, include work for Dr. Howard, with compromises and reductions most significantly at Centennial and some at the new Central.
