Two news items from Unit 4

Tonight is the ground-breaking at Bottenfield to celebrate the expansion/renovation. From Stephanie Stuart:

A ground breaking ceremony for the expansion and renovation of Bottenfield Elementary School will be held on Tuesday, July 2 at 5:30 p.m. at the school, which is located at 1801 S. Prospect Avenue in Champaign.

The $6.3 million expansion and renovation project will begin this summer. The expansion includes new construction of 16,000 square feet featuring a gymnasium and additional classroom space, along with the original 33,000 square feet undergoing extensive renovations. Local contractor Broeren Russo was the low bidder for the project and was awarded the contract. The new school has been designed by Cannon Design and Bailey Edward Architects.   • Approval of Bottenfield Alpha Controls Contract: $48 thousand
